Back from a long hiatus

Oh, our dear friends, we're back!

Back from where? Please don't ask ... ;)

Let's just put it this way ... Mami's hands are tied these days that blogging has somehow been put aside. But that doesn't mean that our daily life is not as exciting as before. In fact, as Luke turns 2 (yeah, he's now 2!), there are more flashy things that we love to tell you about. So, allow us to go back where we had last posted. We'll try to fast track the posts so it won't sound historically (ya know what I mean).

So, hold on there, and hope you'll enjoy the upcoming posts. ;)

Blog anniv: new design

Guess you've noticed it by now. Yep, this site has a new look, inspired still by the lovable and huggable Pooh bear. The animated background design was sourced from All About the Bear, although I modified it a bit. Of course, the header (and the rest too!), is an all-sweat output of mine, which I've worked on for a couple of days, as I'm no expert in webdesign. It may not look a pro to some, but I'm proud of my work, because I did it with much love for my firstborn.

Luke is now one year and seven months old -- already walking fast, and (baby) talking fast and loud too! I started this blog when he was about six months old, and I intend to continue blogging anything and everything about him until circumstances allow it, as this site serves not only as a journal but also as a way for those who want to be updated of his development.

Keep on visiting here!

New look

Hope you noticed it. Coy-coy's blogsite has a new face, which is sooo Pooh-ish. I could have employed other "fabulous" changes here, sad to say, I am not a pro when it comes to html and other web thingy. I can picture it in my mind, but I can't actualize it here. Maybe, a few years from now, I'd be better at this. For now, I am happy with the result after working on it from day til night.

And oh, by the way, I got the background pic from this site.

The name

Many of our friends asked us, "Why Luke Nathaniel?" The answer is simple.

Luke is taken from Luke, the physician (Colossians 4:14) and author of one of the gospels (and Acts of the Apostles too) in the Holy Bible. God knows how we wanted to have a baby, and we have been praying for it for six long years. Everytime my husband and I would pray for it, the good Lord would speak to us and give us an assurance that He would soon give in to our request. And, most of these promises we found in the book of Luke. The Lord also somehow revealed to us our baby boy's mission in life -- to be a physician, just like Luke. One who is God-fearing and acknowledges that he is an instrument of God to heal people's illnesses and help them live a healthier life. NOT one who would think that abortion is the only and best solution to a problematic pregnancy.

Nathaniel is a variant of Nathanael, which is Hebrew name for "gift of God." Indeed, our little one is a precious gift from God as he brings joy and fulfillment to our life and completes our family.

Funny thing is that, dadi and I have already this name in mind even before we knew that our baby is a boy. Call it motherly and fatherly instinct! :)

This blog is for and all about my firstborn ...

His name is Luke Nathaniel. He is more than half a year old now and growing very fast and healthy, weighing more than 8 kilos. He seems to be friendly (just like mami!) as he smiles at everyone but cries his lungs out when mami seems to be not around.

Having him into our lives is the most precious gift we ever received from our dear Lord. His coming into our lives, though, was not an easy road to happiness and fulfillment. There was a threat to the unborn child in me, and my nine months of pregnancy was not only filled with excitement, but also coupled with anxiety, worries and doubts. Despite the unthinkable threat to cut short the life of our precious angel (and my own life as well), my husband and I have decided to continue my pregnancy with the hope and assurance that the good Lord will be with us at all times. Indeed, the Lord was (and still is -- always, in fact) good to us that He removed that threat and gave us a miracle. On February 26th, Luke came into this world strong and healthy, no abnormalities whatsoever.

As his proud parents, we enjoy every minute of our lives with our li'l angel. Though taking care of him has its own share of hard times, his smile alone -- and witty laughter -- takes away the weariness and physical pain that I feel most of the time.

This blog hopes to introduce Luke to everyone in this world as he is a living testimony of God's love and miracle. So, read on ... and get to know my firstborn!
